Groundswell supports rural people in Burkina Faso, Ecuador, Ghana, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, and Mali to transform their communities.

Seed Bank $25 Help a family to improve and store local seeds for the planting season. With your gift Groundswell will help families to turn declining stocks of seed into growing community banks of quality local seed. The ability to locally produce quality seeds is a critical community asset and the biological foundation of food security.		Water Harvesting $35 Support a family to capture water to grow more food. With your gift Groundswell will help farmers to experiment and learn simple techniques to capture and make maximum use of water throughout the year. More water means more food, more income and healthier families. Good seeds and soil and reliable access to water are essential to farmers.
Vegetable Garden $35 Turn a scrap of depleted land into a sources of healthy food for children. With your gift Groundswell will help villagers gain access to vegetable seeds and the knowledge they need to turn small plots of depleted land near their homes into fertile gardens that produce nutritious vegetables for their children and help families save money.		Trees $45 Support tree planting to regenerate farms and landscapes. With your gift Groundswell will support families to integrate trees onto their land in a way that creates more diverse, productive farms and regenerates landscapes. And we support communities set up tree nurseries to supply the seedlings farmers need.
Health Training for a Mother $45 Empowering women means healthier communities. With your gift Groundswell will provide training that gives a mother the knowledge and skills she needs to keep herself and her family healthy. Training focuses on nutrition, sanitation, common ailments, among other topics. Empowering women means healthier communities.		Soil Conservation on a Farm $50 Support a farmer to generate healthy soil and more food. With your gift Groundswell will support families to learn simple but life-changing techniques to conserve and regenerate their land – for example contour barriers against erosion and cover crops that nourish the soil. Soil, like water and seeds, is critical to food security.
Farmer-to-Farmer Promoter $100 Support a farmer leader to teach others and spread success. With your gift Groundswell will support people to spread productive, Earth-friendly farming across their villages. Farmer promoters are key to Groundswell’s people-centered approach. Every day they are out in the countryside, traveling from farm to farm to build a sustainable future.		Village Health Promoter $100 Support a leader to create a healthier community. Groundswell provides training and support so local people learn how to improve child nutrition, prevent diseases caused by contaminated water and poor hygiene, and treat the sick. These health promoters become vital community leaders, teaching other families and other villages how to stay healthy.
Farmer Field School $200 A group of farmers learn together how to produce more. With your gift Groundswell supports farmers to develop “field schools” where they experiment and learn together to improve seeds and soil, to harvest water, and to ecologically manage pests. These grounded, practical schools enable farmers to learn more quickly and at a deeper level than they could from an outside “expert”.		Local Food System $250 Help to reconnect family farmers and urban communities. With your gift Groundswell will support family farmers to increase their production ecologically, to build relationships with urban communities, and to strengthen sustainable local markets and food systems as a foundation for a healthy future. Farmers earn more, customers pay less, and solidarity is strengthened.
Farmer-to-Farmer Visit $500 Allow farmers to see what works and apply it at home. With your gift Groundswell will support groups of 15-30 villagers to travel to other communities. Exchange visits allow people to see what works and to inspire action when they return home – whether the issue is farming, setting up a savings and credit cooperative, or accessing clean drinking water.		Strong Village Organization $1,000 Well organized communities can achieve their dreams. With your generous gift, Groundswell helps build the capacity of local organizations from Haiti to Burkina Faso, from Ghana to Ecuador. The most effective way to create resilient villages and sustainable rural development is by strengthening local organizations’ capacity to lead development themselves.

Your gift is made to the entire mission of Groundswell International, and symbolically represents the work we do. In order to invest in moving the greatest number of families to self-reliance, we do not use our limited resources to track gifts from donation to distribution. We use your resources where they can do the most good by pooling them with other donations to support people in transforming their communities.
