Groundswell Basil Recipe Contest Winner

This spring, Groundswell International sent out hundreds of organic basil seeds as part of our Spring Seed Campaign and partnership with Buchi Kombucha and Sow True Seed. Thank you to everyone who participated! Your support helped raise awareness about the importance of GMO-free seeds and sovereign local seed systems as the foundation for food security. To celebrate all of the Groundswell supporters across the country who are growing their own basil, we hosted a recipe contest with Emma Frisch, Food Network Star and owner of Frisch Kitchen

The winning recipe is from Ali Rakowski, a holistic health coach, food blogger, and author of the upcoming Bowls of Love: Paleo Soups for the SeasonsRoasted Ithaca Tomato Soup with Fresh Basil uses homegrown tomatoes and tons of fresh basil to capture summertime flavors at their best.
